Ken Lofstrom - Founder
Ken stepped into the family heating business in 1973, becoming the family's third generation to carry on the trade. But the desire to see his own worth without the aid of family ties soon led him toward an independent career. Building upon a four year sheet metal apprenticeship with the SMWIA, Ken soon achieved a position as sheet metal foreman, during which he furthered his education with a three year RSES program in refrigeration design. Ken's background makes him one of the few in the area equally astute in both ventilation techniques and refrigeration design. He has additional specialization in hydronics, solar thermal design, and more.
Ken's vast knowledge of the industry, as well as his gregarious enthusiasm, is readily available to anyone with the inclination for a pleasant chat. Seeing a project through to fruition is immensely satisfying for him, and seeing someone happy because of his own efforts, or those of his team, is always a pleasure.
He founded Peninsula Heat Company in 1996, and having built a solid reputation over 20 years, Ken is proud of his company. He is also proud of the team he has assembled over those 20 years, which lies at the heart of PenHeat's success. Ken is glad to see his employees every day, and his team will attest to his dedication to them not only at a professional level, always keeping them two steps ahead of the rest in current technologies and trends, but also his dedication to their private lives whenever they feel the need.
An active family man, Ken has a “passion to be there” in the things he does. He is fond of spending his free time with family and friends, mostly sailing and playing the guitar. He can be found at numerous musical gatherings throughout the year, many of them hosted at his own home.
